Students must attend and participate actively in classes. Attendance on a course can be specified as mandatory if it is pedagogically justified or the teaching cannot be arranged otherwise. Attendance can be mandatory for an individual course or a part of a course. When a degree programme decides to make attendance mandatory for a course, it must also decide if students need to attend 100%, 90% or 75% of the teaching.
At their discretion, the teacher may ask a student to compensate for missed classes by assigning them extra tasks, which are to be agreed separately. The extra tasks should correspond to the amount of work the student would have completed by participating in the classes.
