The right-hand block drawer contains:

• Completion progress block. Monitoring one's own progress helps the student to understand their advancement in the course. 

  Completion progress also shows the teacher the students' progress once they have completed the activities according to their settings and conditions. When "Completion conditions" is enabled for activities, the teacher can also see the students' progress in tabular form/table format under the Reports tab, in the Activity Completion section. If you do not use the Completion progress block, you can hide it.

• "For Student" links to Moodle documentation and the Moodle training course, as well as a link to the frequently used Guidance Compass.
• "For Teacher" provides direct links to Moodle instruction and support in Instructions for Teachers (UH) and Teacher's  Moodle Guide Moodle documentation, which are restricted to be visible only in the teacher role.

The middle column contains:

• The course page link should be linked to the course's Course page where information about the course's teaching locations and times can be found.
   
• The "Information about the course" page consolidates the learning and competency objectives of the course, course assignments and their assessments, the course assessment criteria, the final assessment, and the course practices. Update this information to reflect your course details. This will reduce students' uncertainty, increase the transparency of the course assessment, and help students find the course content and practices in one place.
• The A Forum has been added for informal discussions, questions, and answers related to the course.
• The news Announcements forum is a one-way communication channel from teachers to students. Its messages are automatically sent to students' emails unless the students have blocked them in the notification preferences.

Get to know the Open University's Moodle template (includes a checklist for education specialists and teachers). Access to the Moodle area has been opened as a visitor, which means you do not need to register for the area.

You can use the Moodle template also, for example, when Open students participate in your course for degree students (so-called joint teaching). When you want to use the Open University's Moodle template, contact the education specialist responsible for open university studies. The experts supporting the teaching of the training programs.

Get to know the Faculty of Theology's Moodle template (på finska). Access to the Moodle area has been opened as a visitor, which means you do not need to register for the area.

If the template suits your teaching, you can copy it to your own Moodle area by downloading:

1. First, order a new Moodle area into which you copy the Moodle template. You can also download the template on top of your existing Moodle area, but be prepared to organize the content of the Moodle template into the correct sections.
2. Ask for the Moodle template at moodle@helsinki.fi.
3. Go to your Moodle area where you want to download the template.
4. Select More and Course reuse from the tabs in the middle column.
5. Select Restore from the drop-down menu.
6. Click Choose a file > Upload file and find the course template file on your computer and select it.
7. Click Upload this file.
8. Click Restore.
9. Click Continue at the bottom.
10. Under "Restore to this course", select either "Merge the backed up course to this course" or "Remove the contents of this course and restore" > Continue.
11. Click Next > select the content you want > Next > Perform recovery > Continue.
12. The Faculty of Theology's Moodle template has now been copied to your Moodle area. Customize your Moodle area to meet the needs of your course.
13. Check how your course looks by viewing the Moodle area as a student.
