Membership in the Teachers’ Academy

The University of Helsinki Teachers’ Academy is a network of top university teachers and the only one of its kind in Finland. While the academy aims to promote teaching and improve its general standing in the academic community, it also encourages teachers to upgrade their qualifications and rewards them for their teaching merits. Membership in the Teachers’ Academy is the University of Helsinki’s highest recognition for teaching merits and learnedness in the field of teaching.

The members of the Teachers’ Academy are awarded permanent membership as a special recognition for teaching merits. New members and their units also receive a three-year grant. The application process takes place every other year.
