Zoom instructions

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content.

The University of Helsinki utilizes the video communication program Zoom, which enables simultaneous, interactive, and versatile remote teaching. With Zoom, it is possible to conduct remote lectures, seminars, group work, problem-solving exercises, and engage students during the teaching process.

Zoom provides a diverse set of activation tools, such as chat, polls, whiteboard, annotations on shared files, and file sharing.

Zoom is also suitable for creating recordings that can be shared with students for viewing. Recordings can be made either during the teaching session or in advance by the teacher, for example, for flipped classroom use.

When using Zoom for teaching, both the pedagogical and technical aspects of the program need to be considered. The teaching instructions focus on pedagogical guidance. Below are links to technical usage instructions for Zoom. When planning the pedagogical use of Zoom in your teaching, also ensure to check the technical instructions on how to use the program during the teaching session.
