The University has given up the formal study progress monitoring process of doctoral researchers (jatko-opintojen rekisteriseuranta). Starting from the spring of 2021, no new students are picked for study progress monitoring, and new applications related to study progress monitoring need no longer be submitted by anyone.
All attendance registration blocks placed during previous rounds of study monitoring will be removed during the spring semester and no new registration blocks will be introduced. Students who have previously been granted an extension related to study monitoring can register as attending for academic year 2021–2022 even if their previous extension would have been coming to an end at the end of the current academic year.
In the future, doctoral study progress will be followed through the annual reports submitted in Thessa, already in use for some years. All doctoral researchers who register as attending submit a report in Thessa before the annual meeting of their thesis committee. After the annual meeting, the main supervisor of each doctoral researcher should submit an evaluation of the thesis progress. The evaluation is made in Thessa annually.
