Objectives of teaching and degrees

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content.

The curriculum for each degree programme includes the learning objectives of the degree and the modules it contains. Language Centre has its own curriculum and learning objectives.

The university and the Ministry for Education and Culture agree on degree programme objectives of each agreement period. The objectives of bachelor’s degrees and doctorates are not specified separately for different fields, while the objectives of master’s degrees depend on the field of study. The ministry uses the international standard classification of education employed by Statistics Finland.

The university distributes the degree objectives agreed with the ministry among the different faculties. More information on the objectives of the current strategic period is available in the university’s implementation plan (pdf in Finnish).
